In the early 1970’s we were getting calls from all over southern Alberta, from companies seeking our products and advice. As much as we love Lethbridge, we knew we couldn’t stay tied to just one city. Medicine Hat, then a growing town, was the obvious choice for our second location. When we saw the chance to open another store to better support our customers to the east, we jumped. We brought the same philosophy – putting the customer first – to Medicine Hat, and clients here have embraced us with open arms.

Western Canada Welding Products began in Lethbridge as Western Canada Hardware back in the late 1930’s. It wasn’t until 1953 that we became a distributor for Air Liquide. We found our niche, supplying welding products to the welders of Southern Alberta and changed our name to the, now current, Western Canada Welding Products. We’ve grown substantially since 1953, and now deliver a variety of gases and expert advice to companies in industries as far apart as construction and food production.
